On Thursday 23rd November 2017, the Dorset Business Awards glittering Gala Dinner was held at the BIC in Bournemouth. A true celebration of all Dorset businesses, large and small – the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry excelled at putting together an event that was enjoyed by all.
There were many categories, but the Young Chamber Award was sponsored by Blue Sky Financial Planning because our Managing Director, Gary Neild, is truly passionate about improving the links between young people and businesses. Our role was to review all the entries at our Judging Panel meetings and whittle them down to just three worthy finalists – a hard task indeed!
However, on the night, huge congratulations went to the science and technology company Atlas Elektronik for winning the Young Chamber Award. What an achievement, and this was the company’s second award of the night!
We would like to say very well done to the other finalists, Biotrack and LoveLove Films. They both had outstanding entries and the work they do with young people is exemplary. All three were on the shortlist because they, like us, are companies that believe in supporting young people on their education and career paths.
Gary said “businesses can make a hugely positive difference by engaging proactively with schools, colleges, universities and clubs to share invaluable career insights. The Young Chamber Award is all about recognising companies that support the development of young people’s interpersonal skills and highlight pathways into the world of work.”
