Blue Sky Financial Planning were delighted to support Dorset Blind Association (DBA) as the platinum sponsor of this year’s Motor Show. Hosted at Lulworth Castle on Sunday 12th of May, the event saw over 6000 members of the public enjoy a wonderful day out in the sunshine… and the whole event raised an incredible £29,828.44 for the charity.
DBA are a local charity dedicated to supporting blind and partially sighted people to live happy lives. This event is held annually to raise funds to support their work in the community and, of course, the main attraction on the day was the array of prestigious classic cars, supercars and motorbikes on display – but there was also a selection of great entertainment, 60 lovely local food stalls, and the castle itself.
Gary Neild, CEO of Blue Sky said; “We are thrilled to have returned for the second year running to support DBA and welcome our clients and connections to this lovely event. The setting is glorious, the weather was great, and a wonderful day was had by all. We admire the DBA team for their immense passion in helping others to live more fulfilling lives. Whilst we operate in a different sector, this resonates greatly with us at Blue Sky as our main emphasis is focused on ‘what we cause and how we make people feel’. A natural partnership, I would say!”
This was the 8th year of the Motor Show, and with 6000 members of the public in attendance – it was the most successful yet! This event was months in the planning, and our team – including Lesley, Angela and Kate, worked closely with DBA’s event organiser to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Sam Baker, Event Organiser at DBA said; “We are overwhelmed by the support from the local community, our sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who attended. The positive feedback has been incredible, and we are already receiving enquiries about next year’s event.”
The funds raised will make a significant impact on the charity’s ability to continue providing essential services to those living with sight loss in Dorset. Blue Sky are delighted to have played a part in this event and we look forward to being there next year!
